From April 21 to 25, 2026, the “Foreign Enterprises Explore Sichuan”—Malaysian Entrepreneurs Delegation’s Visit to Sichuan was successfully held in Chengdu. The event was hosted by the Sichuan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Malaysia-China Friendship Association, and organized by the Chengdu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
As one of the prominent corporate representatives from Malaysia, SBF (Muhe International) participated in this study tour. Together with leaders of Malaysian and Chinese business associations, the delegation visited government departments, industrial parks, leading enterprises, and professional trade markets to gain deep insights into Sichuan’s industrial ecosystem, investment environment, and cooperation opportunities.
This trip was not merely an economic and trade exchange, but a deep dialogue focused on green food, modern agriculture, cross-border trade, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) & health, new energy & new materials, smart manufacturing, and market collaboration with ASEAN.
Stepping into Sichuan: Unlocking New Spaces for Industrial Collaboration
During the event, the delegation held symposiums with the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism to understand Sichuan’s opening-up policies, international trade facilitation measures, cultural-tourism integration, and cross-border cooperation opportunities.
Following these meetings, the delegation traveled to Pengzhou City, Shuangliu District, Xinjin District, and Pujiang County. They conducted field visits to several key sites, including:
Sichuan Yurun International Agricultural Products Trading Center
Chengdu Xinhongyang Agriculture Co., Ltd.
Chengdu Yonghui Commercial Development Co., Ltd.
Cordyceps Sinensis Original Breeding Base
Sichuan Shenshifu Food Co., Ltd.
These visits allowed the delegation to witness firsthand Sichuan’s robust foundation in modern agriculture, green food, agricultural logistics, and health foods. At the Sichuan Yurun International Agricultural Products Trading Center, the delegation observed Malaysian Musang King durians entering the Southwest China market via Chengdu, further demonstrating the massive potential between Sichuan and Malaysia in fruit trade, agricultural distribution, and supply chain collaboration.
From Green Food to TCM: Clearer Directions for Cooperation
Green food and the TCM health industry emerged as key focus areas for the delegation during this trip.
In Pengzhou, the delegation visited the Tianfu Medicine Market and Tianfu TCM Town to learn about Sichuan’s comprehensive TCM industrial chain—spanning medicinal herb cultivation, product R&D, to modern manufacturing. The integration of traditional medicine with herbal teas, healthy diets, and immersive consumer experiences opens up innovative possibilities for introducing Sichuan’s TCM products to Malaysia and the wider ASEAN market.
Additionally, the delegation visited several advanced enterprises and centers to explore Sichuan’s breakthroughs in cross-border trade formats, new energy, low-carbon materials, and advanced manufacturing, including:
China (Sichuan·Shuangliu) Second-Hand Car Export Base
Chengdu China Building Materials Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd.
Tianfu Intelligent Innovation and Sharing Center
Chengdu Xinjin Era New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Sichuan Fupeng Environmental Protection Technology Group Co., Ltd.
Sichuan Gaotao Industrial Co., Ltd.
These industrial capabilities align perfectly with Malaysia’s current strategic focus on green industries, advanced manufacturing, regional supply chains, and ASEAN-wide cooperation.
Business Matchmaking: Turning Dialogue into Reality
On April 23, the China (Sichuan)—Malaysia Entrepreneurs Matchmaking Meeting was held in Chengdu. Representatives from nearly 80 enterprises across Sichuan and Malaysia engaged in one-on-one matchmaking sessions covering sectors such as electronic information, equipment manufacturing, food and textiles, medicine and health, cross-border e-commerce, cultural tourism, wellness, and modern agriculture.
The atmosphere was vibrant, with many enterprises reaching preliminary cooperation agreements and planning follow-up visits to accelerate project implementation.
For SBF, such exchanges are highly significant. True cross-border cooperation goes beyond just making connections—it requires effectively linking industrial resources, market demands, policy environments, channel capabilities, and execution pathways.
SBF: Empowering Chinese Enterprises to Go Global and Grow Local
As a professional institution rooted in Malaysia that specializes in helping Chinese enterprises expand into ASEAN, SBF always focuses on the real needs of Chinese businesses entering Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets.
We believe that expanding overseas today is no longer just about selling products, finding agents, or setting up a local office. Instead, it requires systematic planning for market entry, local compliance, channel development, brand positioning, and long-term operations.
This trip to Sichuan has shown us clearly that the region possesses an abundance of enterprises and products with immense global potential in fields like green food, TCM health, modern agriculture, new energy, smart manufacturing, and environmental technology.
Looking ahead, SBF will continue to uphold its service philosophy of “Professionalism, Branding, and Action.” We are committed to being a long-term partner for Chinese enterprises navigating their way into Malaysia and ASEAN, accompanying them on their journey from “going global” to “growing local.”
